FINALLY PACKED!

    The moment I've been waiting for for weeks has finally arrived - packing day! I've made list after list after list. Today I finally set everything out, checked my lists several times, added more stuff, put some stuff back, and then put it all in suitcases! Here's what 4 months worth of stuff looks like, if you're a minimalist like me-

Yes, that is my Barenaked Ladies shirt. No, I don't care if I get dirty looks. 

   With some space-saver bags and a little elbow grease from Cap'n Gail, we managed to fit it all in two suitcases! Ta da!

And I thought I was packing lightly!

   

   Now that I've finished packing, I'm realizing that I'M LEAVING ON SATURDAY. I'M LEAVING. ON SATURDAY. Oh my lanta this snuck right up on me! Well, wish me luck!!

I'm leaving. so soon.

Well, it's coming down to the wire now. Less than ONE WEEK before I leave! When did this happen?! To say I'm freaking out would be an understatement. I haven't even started to pack! And last week I had to say goodbye to everyone at Wells. It was so hard!  : (

But, here are some good things I've realized lately about leaving:

• it will be summer in New Zealand when I get there
• it will be summer in the states when I get back
• the drinking age is 18 there. the wineries are calling to me!
• I'm turning 21 before I return, which means I'm legal starting next week!
• I'LL BE IN FRICKIN NEW ZEALAND.
• WITH MY FAMILY. FOR 2 WEEKS.

Some bad things I've realized:

• my phone doesn't work outside of the country.
• I won't see any of my friends for 4 1/2 months
• I will be sooo broke afterwards!

I'll still be roaming around Middle Earth though! aahhh!!

My flight leaves from Bangor Saturday morning, and I won't arrive in Wellington until Monday. Be thinking of me while I'm in the air Saturday... and Sunday... and Monday!
